Antarctic Station DP1POL

Felix, DL5XL, will once again be active as DP1POL from the German Neumayer Station III (WW Loc. IB59UH) between November 2015 and February 2016.

 

Felix will be activity on all HF bands using mainly CW and possibly some SSB and Digital modes.

QSL via DL1ZBO or LoTW.

Felix will be joined by Marcus, DL1MH, who is expected to be active as DP0GVN from the same station between December 2015 to February 2017.

His activity will be on the HF bands using mainly SSB.

FreeDV digital HF Voice Mode QSO Party

The Amateur Radio Experimenters Group is organizing a world first FreeDV digital HF voice mode QSO Party weekend for September 12/13th 2015 using the special event callsign VK100ANZAC courtesy of the WIA.

FreeDV digital voice is an open source codec/system developed by David Rowe VK5DGR. The aim is to encourage as many people as possible to come and try their hand at digital HF voice operation using FreeDV around the world.

The Longest Reign Amateur Radio Special Event Station

This year on the 9th September 2015, the United Kingdom's Queen Elizabeth II will become the longest reigning monarch, passing the reign of Queen Victoria.

To mark the occasion, Medway Amateur Receiving and Transmitting Society (MARTS) from Kent will be running an amateur / ham radio special event station GB2QLR for the Queen's longest reign to commemorate the event starting on Wednesday 9th September 2015 (the day she attained the position ) for 7 days - until midnight the following Tuesday 15th September 2015.

Station will be at located at Nigel G0GDA QTH powered by Solar panels during daylight hours and using a FTdx3000 & a FT857d for all HF 2m & 70cms using SSB & data.
