Ham Radio 2020 Friedrichshafen Update

The organisers of the Ham Radio 2020 taking place in Friedrichshafen, 26-28th June 2020, say they are working intensively to plan the upcoming event, they expect to provide a further update in mid-April 2020.

We are working intensively to plan the upcoming International Amateur Radio Exhibition under the assumption that the event can take place and maintain close contact to our patron Deutscher Amateur-Radio-Club (DARC) e.V. .... In mid-April we can give you more information.
— Petra Rathgeber, Project Manager

More than 180 exhibitors from 32 countries were present in Friedrichshafen last year, presenting their products, trends, and innovations in the field of radio transmission as well as the associated technology. The German Amateur Radio Club (DARC) invites you to participate in its 71st conference, taking place on Lake Constance with numerous lectures (also based on an information status as of March 31, 2020).

Hamvention 2020 Cancelled

The Hamvention Executive Committee has been monitoring the COVID19 pandemic, including working very closely with our local and state health departments.

General Chairman Jack Gerbs, along with the rest of the Hamvention team have taken the tough decision, with a very heavy heart to cancel Hamvention for this year.

Hamvention Officials Keeping an Eye on Coronavirus

Hamvention show organizers will post updates as the 15-17 May 2020 event nears, but they’re optimistic that coronavirus will not be an issue.

“At this time, the Hamvention Executive Committee has been in contact with the Greene County Public Health Department, and we do not anticipate any impact because of this issue,” a March 3 Hamvention statement said. The Greene County Public Health Department reports that no cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ohio.

“Greene County Public Health is working closely with the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and are prepared to respond, should there be a community spread of COVID-19,” the Hamvention statement noted. “The current risk to the general public is very low. Travel advisories are in effect and can change anytime, so please see the CDC Travel Advisory webpage before travelling.”
