QSO Expo Announces Integration of Groundbreaking Video Technology

The QSO Today Virtual Ham Radio Expo, scheduled for 13-14 March 2021 has announced that it is partnering with Airmeet, a groundbreaking conference technology company, to dramatically improve the virtual interaction and networking experience for all attendees.

By integrating Airmeet’s technology into the Expo, attendees will take advantage of live round table video chat to interact with each other, with exhibitors, and speakers.

VHF online VHF/UHF workshop

SARL and AMSATSA will join forces on 20 February 2021 to present an online VHF/UHF workshop on the BlueJeans platform. Attendance at the VHF workshop will be free for SARL and AMSATSA members and R50 for non-members. Formal registration is required. More details and the programme will be made available on the SARL and AMSATSA websites.

The programme includes

  • Next Generation 2 Metre Beacons

  • Complexity of Repeater Systems from a technical perspective

  • The design of the AMSAT SA dual band Yagi and its performance

  • VHF/UHF dongles for SDR operation.

The workshop will run from 10:00 - 13:00 CAT followed by an open discussion on how amateur radio contributes to technology.

The 13-14th March 2021 QSO Today Virtual Ham Expo is in full planning mode with many exciting new things underway for the upcoming event. In addition to the world-class line-up of 60+ speakers and workshops, the Expo team is proud to announce an entire speaker track dedicated to the amazing world of AMSAT - the worldwide group of amateur radio operators who share an active interest in building, launching and then communicating with each other through non-commercial amateur radio satellites. To date, over 70 amateur radio satellites have been launched. At the Expo, there will be 9 sessions by AMSAT experts who will discuss everything you need to know about taking advantage of this satellite network.
