RSGB AGM 2022 Online

The RSGB Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 23 April 2022 will, once again, be held online.

Members will be able to submit questions in advance for RSGB Board Directors to answer.

Announcement and recipients of the RSGB annual awards and trophies, as well as the winners of the Construction Competition, will be announced.

The RSGB President will give his review of 2021 and there will be an excellent presentation after the formal business of the day.

Presenter Opinion : Ham Radio was Hot at HamCation 2022

Last weekend, I got to attend the Orlando HamCation. I actually had been planning to go with my wife, Silvia, for several years, but Covid put my plans on hold. This year, my employer, ARDC, actually paid me to go!

The first thing that I’ll note is that the weather was just perfect. Friday, the high was in the upper 70s, and on Saturday, the high was in the low 80s. If nothing else, it was great to thaw out for a couple of days.

Webinar Set to Discuss Amateur Radio and AUXCOM Support to Department of Defense

On Thursday 18th February 2022, at 0100 (the evening of February 17 in North American time zones), the US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) will host a Zoom call to discuss amateur radio and AUXCOM support to the US Department of Defense.

During this presentation, the NETCOM representative will discuss:

  • the authorities for these operations

  • upcoming DOD exercise opportunities for 2022, where outreach to the amateur radio/AUXCOM community will be a primary training objective

  • use of the five 60-meter channels

  • the concept for the types of amateur/AUXCOM outreach.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A throughout the presentation.
