The March meeting of the South Eastern Amateur Radio Group EI2WRC will take place on Monday, the 28th of March 2022, at 8.00 p.m. sharp at The Sweep Bar, Adamstown, Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford, Eircode X91 H588. New members or anyone interested in learning more about amateur radio or the group are as always very welcome to attend.

With less than a month to go to the 89th IRTS AGM Weekend which will be held on Saturday and Sunday, the 9th and 10th of April at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow. People are reminded to please prebook your dinner tickets. Dinner tickets for the Gala Dinner on the Saturday evening can be prebooked from John EI7IG. Tickets cost €35 and must be prebooked before the 4th of April.

Workshop for Amateur Radio Operators Working to Advance Science

join HamSCI, the Ham Radio Science Citizen Investigation, at its fifth annual workshop, taking place on 18-19 March 2022 at the U.S. Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville, Alabama.

HamSCI is a community of amateur radio operators working together to advance science—now a member of the NASA citizen science community!

The HamSCI workshop brings together the amateur radio community and professional scientists to advance ionospheric, radio, and space science. This year’s theme is “The Weather Connection”! The program includes presentations and demonstrations from NASA’s heliophysics division, the NASA RadioJOVE project, and the HamSCI Personal Space Weather Station team. Invited speakers include Dr. Tamitha Skov speaking on “The Ionospheric Impacts of Space Weather and our Heightened Awareness of its Effects on Society”, Mr. Jim Bacon speaking on “Influences of Terrestrial Weather on Radio Propagation and the Ionosphere”, and Dr. Chen-Pang Yeang speaking on “Ham Radio and the Discovery of the Ionosphere”.
