8th July Sees Start of Radio Olympics

The World Radio TeamSport Championships begins on 8th July 2023, from the Bologna region, Italy. Over the two days of 8th and 9th July 2023 will have the airwaves alive with teams looking for contacts during the IARU HF World Championship and YOU can help!

Whether contester-type or just a "normal" radio amateur - the organisers just announced a competition for those calling the contesters - it's called the Competition award for WRTC2022.

WRTC To Go Forward in Italy Despite Floods

There's some encouraging news from the flood-stricken region in Italy where the World Radiosport Team Championship is to be held next month.

Despite flood damages that have devastated Italy's Emilia Romagna region, the World Radiosport Team Championship will go forward in July, organisers have said. Luca Aliprandi IK2NCJ, the WRTC's spokesman, said the organising committee has found replacement sites for stations whose original operating locations near Bologna have become unusable. In all, the region has suffered losses costing in excess of 5 billion euros, organisers said.

RSGB Construction Competition

Do you enjoy amateur radio construction? Would you like to try making something for the first time? The RSGB’s Construction Competition welcomes entries in four categories – Beginners, Construction Excellence, Innovation, and Software. Special recognition will be given to entries submitted by radio amateurs under the age of 24, and to those who have just gained their Foundation licence. A cash prize will be awarded for the winner of each section, with a bonus for the overall winner who will also be declared the winner of the Pat Hawker G3VA Trophy. The deadline for entries is 1 March 2023 so you have plenty of time to construct something during the long winter evenings.
