New Eastbourne Radio and Electronics Club

The Eastbourne Radio and Electronics Club, EREC, has been setup for those of all ages who are interested in the fascinating world of Amateur Radio and Electronics.

The club's main aim is to provide a strong emphasis in Practical Electronics and importantly fun in learning more about the many areas within the hobby from other like-minded people, in a friendly and enjoyable way.

Our Inaugural meeting and AGM will be on Monday 10th of February 2014 at 7pm and located at St. Lukes Church and Parish Centre, Rattle Road, Stone Cross, Pevensey, East Sussex, BN24 5EB.

Successful Ham Radio DF Hunt

The Indian National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR) reports that 550 people participated in an Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF) event

“FOX HUNT (DF) event was a grand success in Technozion’13, NIT-Warangal during 27-29 Dec 2013. ”

There were around 550+ participants with nearly 140 on-spot registrations and 64 online registrations which contribute around 200 teams. Out of three winning teams, two are from other colleges and one from our college. We got good and positive feedback from participants.

Vandalism at Australian amateur radio club

Around the weekend of 17 November 2013, considerable damage was done to the club rooms of the Summerland Amateur Radio Club at Lismore.

Club President Ross Dowse on VK2WI News reported much equipment was stolen and a major inspection and clean-up has been held during the past days.

Club activities were put on hold until the general meeting planned for Sunday the 1st of December.

You should be on the lookout for strange offers or possible unusual activity with the radio equipment. You should inform the Summerland club executives or the authorities of any information you may become aware of.

It is only a few weeks since Summerland club member John VK2JWA was attacked by intruders in his home, which they subsequently set on fire causing considerable damage.
