Radio Ham Astronaut Named as Minister for Science

Radio amateur and astronaut Pedro Duque KC5RGG / ED4ISS has been named as Minister of Science in the new Spanish Government

His first space mission was STS-95 on the space shuttle Discovery in 1998 and in 2003 he spent a week on the International Space Station and had two ARISS contacts with schools in Spain.

The Irish Radio Transmitters Society (IRTS) would like to remind all affiliated clubs to nominate a member of their club who is also a member of IRTS to act as the club's representative for this year. Some clubs have already done so. For additional information regarding this role, please make contact with the IRTS Secretary.

IRTS Officers and Club Reps are entitled to attend the monthly IRTS meetings.
