John Crabbe, G3WFM, SK

John Crabbe, G3WFM, passed away in the early hours of Thursday 18th October 2018 at the age of 87, after having been unwell for some time.

For many years John volunteered for the RSGB at Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, UK, working as an archivist/historian, RSGB National Amateur Radio Museum curator, and manager of the RSGB Shack.

A very active amateur in his own right too, right to the end, he had diverse interests ranging from HF DX up to satellites, microwaves and amateur television.

In 2008 John was awarded the prestigious Founders’ Trophy for his many years’ distinguished service to the RSGB.

Rocky Mountain Division Director Resigns

In a letter to ARRL President Rick Roderick, K5UR, on Friday 19th October 2018, Dwayne Allen, WY7FD, resigned as Director of the Rocky Mountain Division due to time constraints and competing duties with work and family. As such, the Secretary of the Corporation has declared the position vacant.

In accordance with Article 7 of the Articles of Association, Vice Director Jeff Ryan, K0RM, will assume the Director position immediately.

Banbury UK Amateurs Win RSGB Construction Award

The Banbury Amateur Radio Society has won a constructors prize at the RSGB Convention in the UK.

The project is to promote "Club Zest" and is called BARSicle. It is a LEARN-CODE-BUILD project to re-invigorate members in electronic design and amateur radio circuit operation.
