I don’t know about you, but I’m really tired of Zoom meetings. Fortunately, here in Michigan, covid cases are down, and in Washtenaw County, where I live, the vaccination rates are quite high. So, instead of trying to twist someone’s arm to speak to us via Zoom, I felt it was time that our club, ARROW, met face to face.

So, I’ve started playing around with a Raspberry Pi Pico. All I’ve been able to do so far is to blink the LED with a little Python program, but it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Every now and then, there’s a news story that catches my eye about a club providing some kind of public service outside the normal channels. In this instance, it’s a special event sponsored by the Hudson River Radio Relay to raise funds for the preservation of the historic Bannerman Castle, which sits on an island in the Hudson River. Hams who contact the club’s special event stations will be sent a certificate along with information on how to contribute to the fundraiser.
