I’ve been doing the “No Nonsense” amateur radio license study guides for almost 20 years now. Yikes! That’s a long time. It’s been a lot of work, but satisfying work. It’s a good feeling to know that I’ve helped literally thousands of hams either get their first licenses or upgrade to General or Extra.

/I’ve been vaccinated since the end of February, and have slowly been easing myself back into the world. I’ve been to dine-in restaurants with friends, have gone to see movies at the Michigan Theater with my wife, and today, went to my first hamfest in a year and a half. The Monroe (MI) Hamfest is held every year on Father’s Day. The weather’s usually good, and it’s mostly an outside affair (see below), so I and many other hams felt safe enough to attend.

I don’t know about you, but I’m really tired of Zoom meetings. Fortunately, here in Michigan, covid cases are down, and in Washtenaw County, where I live, the vaccination rates are quite high. So, instead of trying to twist someone’s arm to speak to us via Zoom, I felt it was time that our club, ARROW, met face to face.
