African 4x4 Tour

Operators Mathias DJ2HD and Ulmar DK1CE will once again be active as V5/DJ2HD and V5/DK1CE from Namibia between 14th December 2013 and 18th January 2014.

This is just one part of their 4x4 trip through different African countries.

Activity will be holiday style on CW, SSB and RTTY, but will also include a SSB entry in the DARC 10m Contest (January 14th).

During this time frame, Mathias and Ulmar will also travel to and be active as 7P8DJ and 7P8CE, respectively, from Lesotho between December 22-24th. Their plans also include to be active from South Africa (as ZS/DJ2HD and ZS/DK1CE) and one more country to be announced later, but no scheduled days have been provided.

QSL all callsigns via their home callsigns, direct or by the Bureau.

 

Ham radio couple in Ghana

Jeff, W7JVN, along with his wife Beverly, WB7NLY have been called to a church mission in Ghana, West Africa and will be active as 9G5AC.

Jeff thought it would be nice to be on a DX expedition in Ghana, so he brought his FT-857 and have set up a humble little station at their house.

Jeff has a 20 metre inverted V dipole antenna mounted on a 30 foot bamboo pole. He will use a 12 volt battery off his generator for power for the radio.

Jeff will get on 20 and 15 metre SSB whenever he gets a chance and when the

bands are open. Jeff and his wife will be located in Asamankese, Ghana, (which is in the bush) for about 16 months.

Ham Radio satellite operation from Guernsey

Peter Goodhall 2E0SQL/2U0SQL will be active on the amateur radio satellites from Guernsey during 24-30 July 2013

Peter will be active sporadically on satellite passes from Guernsey (IN89RL) as 2U0SQL.

Peter will shall be focusing on FO-29 [SSB] and SO-50 [FM] passes but no firm pass times, but hopefully will have internet access and will try posting on Twitter (@2E0SQL) when I'll be on.
