Irish Islands IOTA Tour 2018

Beginning June 1st 2018, the EIDX Group will activate all Irish IOTA Groups.

Using the 'Echo Juliet' prefix, EJ0DXG will be QRV from IOTA EU-006,  EU-007, EU-103 and EU-121 this summer.

Supported by dxwanted.net a beautiful plaque will be available for whoever works them on 4 different IOTA Groups. 

So, as a 'Bonus' or 'Wildcard' station, EI0DXG will also be QRV from Mainland Ireland (EU-115) throughout and until 30th September 2018.

Teams are already confirmed with all necessary permissions in hand. 6m fans should note that some of these islands are also in rare Grid squares and for Worked All Ireland followers...will also count towards the Island award.

Starting off with 'Little Saltee Island' EU-103 on 15-18th June 2018 ....the group will be QRV on HF and 6m bands using CW, SSB and Digital modes.

July will see activity from the Great Blasket Island EU-007 where as August will see EU-121 grace the bands from Bere Island. Their last Island activity ends September 16th as part of their DX Féile weekend from Inishmore, Aran Islands EU-006.

Reunion Island

Thomas, F4HPX, will be active as FR/F4HPX from various locations on Reunion Island (AF-016) between 25th May to 15th June 2018.

He will be operating from his family home, and also from beaches and especially from the mountains because there is a lot of them including an active volcano.

His SOTA aim this year is the tallest FR/RE-001 3070m ASL.

Activity will be on 40-15 meters using CW (possibly), SSB, RTTY, PSK31, JT65, JT9 and possibly FT8.

He will use various wire and portable antennas with 2 rigs: FT-891 from home with 100w and KX2 outside (alone or with small 30W HF amp).

QSL via his home callsign, by the Bureau, direct, LoTW, eQSL or ClubLog's OQRS.

 

CR3W Madeira

CR3W team will be active from Madeira Island, IOTA AF - 014, in CQ WW WPX CW Contest, 26 - 27 May 2018.
Team will include DK9VZ, DL5LYM, DL8LAS, DL8WAA, DL9EE.

Before and after they will operate CT9/DK9VZ, CT9/DL5LYM, CT9/DL8LAS, CT9/DL8WAA, CT9/DL9EE on bands from 160 through to 6m.
