German Request More 5 MHz power

A coalition of most of the German Amateur Radio Clubs, the RTA, are pushing for 100 watts output in the new WRC-15 60m allocation 

The General Assembly of the World Radio Conference in 2015 in Geneva (WRC-2015) set a maximum effective radiated power in the region of 15 watts EIRP.

However, as some countries already deviate from this limitation the RTA hopes that Germany can have a higher power of 100 W PEP, the same level Dutch radio amateurs have had since 3 December.

Malta Digital Repeater

The first DMR repeater in Malta has been operating for some time and now has a new callsign.

Brothers Antoine and Herbert Debattista, with the cooperation of MCA (Malta Communications Authority, the equivalent of the UK Ofcom), are pleased to announce the repeater has been allocated 9H1DMR.

The frequencies of operation are 438.525 MHz input and 430.925 Mhz output and is hosted by C Bridge DMR UK, Colour Code 1 with slots TS1 and TS2.

Visiting amateurs to Malta are welcome to use the repeater using their allocated Maltese callsigns which are obtainable free of charge from MCA on application.

Essex gets 2m D-STAR Amateur Radio Repeater

As of Saturday 18th July 2015 the Essex 2m repeater GB7TE was connected to the amateur radio D-STAR network

It took over a month of configuring and tweaking to get GB7TE successfully configured and the repeater actually went on air on Friday 17th July 2015 but wasn't connected to the network until the following day.

Icom donated the repeater modules and the Martello Tower Group supplied the server, cavities, broadband and site.

The repeater, located in Grid Square J0O1ot NGR TM218172, has an output frequency of 145.775 MHz.
