Online UK Advanced Exam

The RSGB have posted an article to their website, outline a pilot for an online advanced UK amateur radio exam.

The document includes more detail regarding timing of the pilot phase of the project and also includes an FAQ section that hopefully answers most of the questions that exam secretaries and candidates are likely to raise.

UK Foundation Ham Radio Training Videos

Essex Ham has made available their Foundation training videos used as part of the free online Foundation course

There are nine videos, one for each of the main Foundation modules - they include an audio commentary, diagrams, animations and photos. There are also videos of what to expect on the practicals and during the exam - a total of over 90 minutes of free training material.

It has been reported that the material has proven very useful to candidates with dyslexia, who struggle with the book and with online material and handouts.

Enrol for UK Advanced Distance Learning Course

Enrollment is now open for the Advanced Distance Learning course starting mid-January, over 50 people have already signed aiming to sit the UK Amateur / Ham Radio Advanced exam around late June / early July 2017.

The course guides students through the RSGB Advance textbook with lots of revision questions, exercises and videos to watch. Students have access to an online tutor who will provide advice and can answer any questions that might arise.

There are no charges for the training but students pay a refundable deposit which is paid in return for seeing the course through. Those that do not complete the course agree to donate the deposit to a radio-related charity.
