New N Class licence for Germany - Entry Level Licence to come in in July 2024

From Ham radio Friedrichshafen an important announcement that the required legislative document had just been signed to implement the new German entry level "N class" amateur radio licence. The regulations will come into force on the 21st June 2024, the week before next years "Ham Radio" event between the 28th - 30th June 2024 and indeed the very first examinations for this new class of licence will take place at "HAM RADIO 2024". The new licence will allow access to 70cm, 2m and 10m running a maximum of 10 watts and will conform to CEPT report 89 specifications for an entry level licence.

Distance Learning for Full Licence Exam

Since 2011, the Bath Based Distance Learning (BBDL) team has helped nearly 1,000 students to obtain their Full licence.

Student feedback is always very positive and the pass rate continues to be well over 80 percent, compared with a national average of around 66 percent.

The BBDL team is now planning another Full licence level course.

The course will run from the end of August 2023 to December 2023, with exams in January 2024.

Online Ham Bootcamp - 13th May 2023

The Nashua Area Radio Society’s spring 2023 online Ham Bootcamp will be held on Saturday, 13th May 2023, from 10 AM to 6 PM Eastern Time. Access to the session will be provided via Zoom.

Ham Bootcamp includes a series of demonstrations and tutorials designed to help newly licensed Technician, General, and Extra-class license holders get on the air. Ham Bootcamp is also a great opportunity for hams who are interested in seeing what the hobby has to offer.
