YL Activity Week

WARO (Women Amateur Radio Operators) is inviting all YL’s (Young Ladies) to join us in a week of Amateur Radio fun.

The event is not a contest, but is a chance for WARO members and YL’s from around New Zealand to get together on Amateur radio and help promote Women in Amateur Radio.

We will be however asking contacts to be logged as we will give the person with the most YL contacts a certificate at the end of this week.

The event takes place on Sunday 24th November to Sunday December 1st 2013.

Turkish Special Event

The members of the TCSWAT (Special Wireless Activity Team) have been active with the special event TC suffix callsigns for some years now to celebrate the anniversary of Republic of Turkey.

In 2013, Turkey will celebrate their 90th anniversary, and between 14-31st October 2013, the TCSWAT group will be active once more on the air as TC90TC. More details will be available on QRZ.com in the coming days.

Activity will be on all HF bands and all modes.

Plans are ongoing for a Multi-Multi entry at CQWW DX SSB Contest (26-27th October 2013).
