8J1ITU Special Event Station

Japanese special event station, 8J1ITU, will be on the air between 1500z, on 30th April 2018 to 1459z 31st May 2018.

The station is celebrating the anniversary of the foundation of the ITU (World Telecommunication and Information Society Day - 17th May).

8J1ITU is operated by the Japan ITU Amateur Radio Club during the month of May every year. This activity counts for Japan Honshu Island (AS-007, JIIA AS-007-001, WLOTA 2376), as well as Kasumigaura City (Japan JCC# 1430).

World Amateur Radio Day 2018

IARU Region 1 will be supporting World Amateur Radio Day on 18th April 2018, by promoting events by members to over three million people worldwide interested in wireless communication.

Founded in 1925 in Paris, the IARU is recommending using the modern hashtag #WorldAmateurRadioDay on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to promote events showcasing the scientific benefits and expertise of amateur radio.
