RAOTA Special Event

A special event station, GB60OT will operate CW, the Digital modes and occasional SSB, between the period of 19-27th May 2018.

This station is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Radio Amateur Old Timers Association (RAOTA). The station will be very active during the CQWW WPX CW Contest (26-27th May).

QSLs are preferred via the Bureau or eQSL. Direct QSLs, with 2 USDs return postage, should go via G3KPU.

The Royal Mint Experience

Members of the Barry Amateur Radio Society will be active from 'Her Majesty's Royal Mint' at Llantrisant, South Wales, UK, signing GB4RME(Royal Mint Experience) between 1st-2nd June 2018.

The Theme is "Covert Radio as used in WW2". At the same time the Royal Mint will be releasing a new British 10p coin showing that legendary "Special Agent 007".

The group will be active on CW, SSB, DATA JT8, plus Satellite operations.

Special RSL for Royal Wedding

UK radio amateurs wishing to celebrate the royal wedding can apply for a Notice of Variation to do so

The RSGB has agreed with Ofcom an NoV to authorise the temporary use of the Regional Secondary Locator R after the United Kingdom call sign prefix.

The NoV is only valid from 19th-21st May 2018.
