D-Day 75th Anniversary Ham Radio Event

With the 75th anniversary of D-Day set to fall in 2019, a Llandudno-based amateur radio club is set to hold an event commemorating the town's involvement in the Second World War.

With Llandudno littered with ex-military sites involved in the Second World War, founder of the North Wales Radio Society (NWRS), Tony Mottram MW6TMQ has developed a D-Day 75 year anniversary event on the Great Orme.

The event will see Mr Mottram and other members of the NWRS broadcast on the first week in June, talking about Llandudno's involvement in the Second World War.

Thinking Day on the Air 2019

Thinking Day on the Air 2019 will take place over the weekend of 16 and 17 February 2019.

The website has a form for stations to submit their details to be added to the list, and an IO group for exchanging details or arranging skeds.

Currently, as well as UK stations, Guides and Scouts are taking part in Canada, USA, and the Netherlands.

Bangalore Amateur Radio Club Diamond Jubilee Year

The Bangalore Amateur Radio Club will be completing 60 years in 2019 and it is proposed to celebrate the 'Year 2019' as the Diamond Jubilee Year of Bangalore Amateur Radio Club - VU2ARC

A series of events such as HF/VHF contests, ARDF contest, Field-day and Amateur Radio Promotional drives are planned during the year 2019, culminating in a grand Diamond Jubilee Year celebration in the second half of 2019 including an exclusive "BARC Club Night" for Life Members and their families.
