SE19SKI Amateur Radio Special Call

Special callsign SE19SKI will be active on 4-17 February 2019 for the Alpine World Ski Championships to be held in Are, and again on 4-17 March 2019 for the Biathlon World Championships to be held in Ostersund. The activity is organized by SK3JR, the Jemtlands Radioamatorer club.

SX73SC Special Amateur Radio Call

Special event station SX73SC will be active on 8-10 February for the 73rd anniversary of the Hellenic Army’s Signal Corps. Look for activity on all bands SSB, CW and RTTY; the operation will take place from the Science Center & Technology Museum in Thessaloniki.

ARISS / NOTA Slow Scan TV Event

ARISS is planning another of their popular Slow Scan Television (SSTV) experiment events. Transmissions are scheduled to begin Friday 8th February 2019 at 18:25 UTC and run through Sunday 10th February at 18:30 UTC.

SSTV operations is a process by which images are sent from the International Space Station (ISS) via ham radio and received by ham operators, shortwave listeners and other radio enthusiasts on Earth, similar to pictures shared on cell phones using twitter or instagram.
