Exercise Blue Cadets on 60m

During the weekend of 16 and 17 March 2019, Army, Navy and Air cadet units in the UK will be carrying out Exercise Blue Ham 2019.

Operating on the 5MHz shared band, the expected period of operation will be from 8am to 5pm on both days.

Amateur operators may claim a certificate if they contact 10 or more stations over the weekend and submit a copy of their log sheet.

St. Patrick’s Day Award

Stations around the world will once again be on air to turn the bands green as part of the St. Patrick’s Day Award. The 48-hour annual event will run from 1200 UTC on March 16 until 1200 UTC on March 18. A new award will be available to those operating modes requiring software or a computer.

St Patrick’s Day Special Events Station GB1SPD

West Tyrone Amateur Radio Club which is based in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland are running a special event station to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

The station will be running on the weekend of the 16th & 17th March 2019.

The station will be operational from approximately 0930 to 1800hrs Saturday and from 10am to 1600hrs on Sunday.

Depending on band conditions, we will be operational on the following bands.

  • HF: 17 / 20 / 40 / 80 phone

  • HF: CW 20 meters

  • HF: PSK31 & FT8

  • 2 metres & Echolink.

QSL cards will be sent out to all contacts.
