Special Calls OH*PYSYKOTONA and OH*STAYHOME

Finnish radio spectrum management, TRAFICOM, has authorized Lahden Radioamatoorikerho ry, OH3AC; to use ten ' OH*PYSYKOTONA' special calls 4.4.2020-3.7.2020

  • OH0PYSYKOTONA

  • OH1PYSYKOTONA

  • OH2PYSYKOTONA

  • OH3PYSYKOTONA

  • OH4PYSYKOTONA

  • OH5PYSYKOTONA

  • OH6PYSYKOTONA

  • OH7PYSYKOTONA

  • OH8PYSYKOTONA

  • OH9PYSYKOTONA

”PYSYKOTONA” is ”STAYHOME” in Finnish but not the easiest prefix in international communications, or on CW. However, the special stations have been active on all HF bands. It's the first time TRAFICOM issues special calls with a ten-letter suffix.

Approximately half of the hams in Finland are over 65 years and therefore in the COVID-19 risk group. The prefixes encourage to stay home and stay safe and get on the air.

OH*PYSYKOTONA calls made some 3000 QSO's over the first weekend.

All club gatherings etc all over the country have been cancelled. Hams are now active on local repeaters or on 80 m and 160 m local QSO's.

All OH*PYSYKOTONA QSO's will be confirmed by LoTW, eQSL or QSL cards.

QSL request to OH3AC.

A special diploma will be issued for those, who work all ten calls.

Licenses for more English friendly OH*STAYHOME has also been authorized and will be on the air later this week.
