Japan’s 7-CALL Amateur Radio Club Celebrates Anniversary with Unique Call Sign Prefix

The 7-CALL Amateur Radio Club (JS1YEY) based in Tokyo is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special event station, using the call sign 8J17CALL. This is a new call sign prefix. The event will continue until 21st April 2021. The first 7 Call, 7K1AAA, was issued on 23rd April 1990, and the last, 7N4XZZ, on June 20, 2003.

The Hungarian Radioamateur Society (MRASZ) has announced a special radioactivity for the period during the COVID-19 virus threat.

The aim is to raise awareness of the threat of the epidemic and to promote the importance of Staying-at-Home, in order to put an end to this emergency as soon as possible.

During the activity, look for the following 5 stations, of which the last two letters add up the words STAY AT HOME: HG20ST, HG20AY, HG20AT, HG20HO and HG20ME

Radio Marathon Commemorates 75th Anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day, the RSGB has organised the VE/VJ Day amateur radio marathon on the HF bands and 6m using SSB, CW and digital modes.

Three special UK call signs GB75PEACE, GB1945PE, GB1945PJ will be on the air from 1-31 May 2020 and 1-31 August 2020.
