Israel Chanukah Special Event

During the week of Chanukah celebrations, special Israeli radio amateur stations will be active on the air with a special callsigns ending in letters from the word "Chanukah", (4X1C, 4X2H, 4Z3A, 4X4N, 4X5U, 4X6K, 4Z7A, 4X8H and 4X0NER). "Ner" means candle in Hebrew. The number in the callsign indicates the number of candles lit that day.

Activity begins on the evening of 10th December 2020 when the first candle will be lit on (1400 UTC). The special event stations will operate for 9 days in row and new special event stations will join the activity every day on Chanukah Holiday until the close of the event on 19th December 2020 (2159 UTC).

Successful Mine Rescue Special Event - XR33M

Members of the Radio Club de Copiapo are now active as XR33M between now and November 13th. Activity is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the successful rescue of the 33 miners in the "San José" mine in Chile.

Look for operations to be on 80-6 meters using CW, SSB, SSTV, FT4/FT8, PSK and RTTY.

Stations that make contact with XR33M will receive their special commemorative QSL via the Bureau once the activity is completed.

HD1X Special Callsign

Members of the HCDX Group will be active as HD1X from a remaining tropical rainforest from Chocó eco-region (Grid FI09iv), promoting the biodiversity of their country, Ecuador.

The special callsign HD1X will be active between 31st October (1700 UTC) and 3rd November 2020 (1700 UTC) on various HF bands including 30/17/12m, using SSB, SSTV and the Digital modes (FT4/FT8). VHF & UHF will be activated on the FM and SSB ham Satellites.
