The RSGB have announced a charity auction for the National Health Service (NHS) as part of its ‘Get on the air for Christmas’ (#GOTA4C) campaign with the NHS.

Roy Bailey, G0VFS, who is an active member of Trowbridge and District Amateur Radio Club, won the Lockdown Category in the RSGB’s Annual Construction competition. He offered to donate his beautifully-engineered VirusPerpleXed Bug CW Key to raise money for ‘NHS Charities Together’.

TF3YOTA on the Air in December

Call signs with the suffix "YOTA" will be prominent on the bands in December. ÍRA has participated in the event from the beginning (2018) with the operation of the call sign TF3YOTA

Elín Sigurðardóttir TF2EQ youth representative of ÍRA, will launch TF3YOTA from Skeljanes as early as December 1st and start with connections via the OSCAR-100 satellite. She will also be QRV at 20 meters SSB this month.

The YOTA project Youngsters On The Air runs in December every year and is intended to increase young people's interest in amateur radio.

Elín Sigurðardóttir TF2EQ is the initiator of our participation in the project and is also the company's YOTA project manager together with Árni Frey Rúnarsson TF8RN.

Special Nets and Callsigns During GOTA4C Announced

Antrim and District Amateur Radio Society plan to run a 2 metre FM net each evening from 19 December 2020 to 9 January 2021 between 1900 to 2000 hours. Listen out on or about 145.475, and they will be using the club call sign MN0GFE. They are keen to make contact with as many as possible and particularly those who may be housebound

Welland Valley Amateur Radio Society members are running a number of special call signs during December:

  • GB1XMS run from the shack of CG1IVG

  • GB2XMS run from the shack of G4ISN

  • GB5XMS run from the shack of G4XEX

  • GB9XMS run from the shack of G0SFJ

Thurrock Acorns ARC are running GB4XMS Christmas On The Air from 1-3 January 2021
