Antarctica Operation RI01ANT

Alexei, RX6A, will be active as RI01ANT from Antarctica between 25th December 2020 and 30th May 2021.

Activity will be from Russian Progress (WAP RUS-11) and Vostok (WAP RUS-13) Base stations.

Operations will be on 40 meters and higher using CW and FT8. QSL via RX6A. ADDED NOTES: Alexei, RX6A, is currently operating as RX6A/MM from on-board of the Russian scientific research icebreaker "Akademik Treshnikov" (aka Akademik Tryoshnikov) on its way to Antarctica.

DXClusters reports show activity on FT8 and SSB, on 30/12/10 meters.

Get on the Air for Christmas Campaign Update

The RSGB have announced a charity auction for the National Health Service (NHS) as part of its ‘Get on the air for Christmas’ (#GOTA4C) campaign with the NHS.

Roy Bailey, G0VFS, who is an active member of Trowbridge and District Amateur Radio Club, won the Lockdown Category in the RSGB’s Annual Construction competition. He offered to donate his beautifully-engineered VirusPerpleXed Bug CW Key to raise money for ‘NHS Charities Together’.

TF3YOTA on the Air in December

Call signs with the suffix "YOTA" will be prominent on the bands in December. ÍRA has participated in the event from the beginning (2018) with the operation of the call sign TF3YOTA

Elín Sigurðardóttir TF2EQ youth representative of ÍRA, will launch TF3YOTA from Skeljanes as early as December 1st and start with connections via the OSCAR-100 satellite. She will also be QRV at 20 meters SSB this month.

The YOTA project Youngsters On The Air runs in December every year and is intended to increase young people's interest in amateur radio.

Elín Sigurðardóttir TF2EQ is the initiator of our participation in the project and is also the company's YOTA project manager together with Árni Frey Rúnarsson TF8RN.
