GB5LIB Guernsey Amateur Radio Special Event

Members of the Guernsey Amateur Radio Society (GARS) will activate the special event station GB5LIB between 0001 UTC, 8th May and 2359 UTC, 14th May 2021.

Activity will be on all bands and modes from 160-10 meters, and maybe 4/6m if conditions allow. Some satellite operation is likely too, including QO100.

The station will be on air to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Liberation of the islands in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Welsh Special Event Station GB100

John, MW1CFN, will be active as GB1004FTS from Anglesey Island (EU-005), an island off the mainland's northwest coast, between 25th March and 8th April 2021.

Operations will be on various HF bands including 6 and 2 meters using SSB and the Digital modes.

Activity is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force's No. 4 Flying Training School which opened up on 1st April 1921.

8J17CALL Stats for January-February, 2021

Details have been released of the monthly performance of 8J17CALL, 7-CALL 30th Anniversary Special station for January-February, 2021 (23rd January to 22nd February 2021).

  • The monthly result in this period is 1,408 QSOs including 117 DX QSOs.

  • Overall result from the beginning is 20,020 QSOs including 2,510 DX QSOs as of 22nd February, 2021.

  • 7-CALL is Japanese callsign starting with “7" and it is a symbol of the golden age of Japanese amateur radio history.There are only 16,701 7-CALL stations (just 6.42% of overall issued 7-CALLs) still exist as of the end of 2020.

Further promotion of the 30th Anniversary of Japanese 7-CALL issuance with the special station until 22nd April, 2021. The special station is also known as a brand new WPX.
