EI2WRC to Activate Hook Lighthouse for ILLW

The South Eastern Amateur Radio Group EI2WRC will activate Hook Lighthouse ILLW Reference Number IE0003 on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd of August as part of the 24th International Lighthouse and Lightship weekend.

Hook Lighthouse is located on the South East coast of Ireland in Co. Wexford. The present structure is about 800 years old and is the oldest intact operational Lighthouse in the world. Hook Lighthouse offers guided tours of the lighthouse tower all year round and is one of the top things to do in Wexford and Waterford.

Indian ILLW Operation

Operators Ramesh/VU2LU, Sridhar/VU3GLS, Madhu/VU3NPI, Lion/VU2JHM, Krishnakumar/VU3UNO, Girish/VU3GDS, Murthy/VU2MTT (VU2VTI), Mahesh/VU3FDT, Srikanth/VU2SBJ and possibly many others will be active as AT8KLH from the Kapu Light House 'Kapu' (ARLHS WLOL IND-091) during the 24th Annual International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW) between August 21-22nd (48 hours).

Stations to Celebrate Fourth Anniversary of FT8

Many stations will take to the airwaves 2-15 August 2021, to celebrate the 4th anniversary of FT8. All stations will use call signs with “FTDMC” or “FTDM” in the suffix. The activity also celebrates the 2nd anniversary of the FT8 Digital Mode Club. Logs will be uploaded to LoTW and eQSL. QSL cards will be available.

Stations planning to participate include: 4J8FTDM, OZ8FTDMC, RO3FTDM, 9K8FTDMC, A60FTDMC, DQ8FTDMC, GB0DMC, HZ8FTDMC, and many others. A certificate will be available with bronze, silver, gold, and platinum levels for working them.
