Avro Lancaster 80th Anniversary of the 1st operational sortie

In March 1942 the first sorties of the AVRO Lancaster aircraft took place. This commemorative event for Lancaster aircraft is being simultaneously partnered in the UK by callsign GB80LAN; and, in Canada by callsign VE80LAN organised by Hamilton Amateur Radio Club, and Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and, in Australia by callsign VK80LAN organised by the Western Australian VHF Group. They want to commemorate those involved with the Lancaster.

Also of interest, is that the Lincoln Short Wave Club will be operating GB6IBC from the International Bomber Command Memorial on 5th March 2022.

Spanish Naval Infantry Amateur Radio Special Event

Members of the Seccion Comarcal URE San Fernando (EA7URF) will activate the special callsign EG485FIM on the following weekends: 19-20th February and 26-27th February 2022.

Activity is to celebrate the 485th anniversary of the Spanish Naval Infantry (FIM - Fuera de Infanteria de Marina).

Operations will be on various HF, VHF and UHF bands and on all possible modes.

A commemorative QSL card will be available. QSL via EA7URF, direct, by the Bureau, eQSL or LoTW.

Exercise Blue Ham Operational on the 5mhz (60 mtr) Band

The RAF Air Cadets are pleased to announce that they are running the ever-popular Blue Ham Radio Communications Exercise in March 2022.

The exercise will take place during the weekend of 26th and 27th March 2022 and subject to your callsign Licencing Conditions we hope that you can put some time aside to join in with the cadets and staff who will be ready to take your calls.
