UK team for Youngsters On The Air 2014

Youngsters On The Air (YOTA) 2014 taking place 15-22 July 2013 in Virat, Finland will contain a team from the RSGB representing the UK

During the week teams of young radio amateurs from 15 different European countries will be participating in different activities such as presentations, competitions, visiting radio stations, workshops, ARDF etc. As the three previous events in Romania, Belgium/Netherlands and Estonia have shown, for the young radio amateurs it will be a great experience they will never forget.

15 teams will attend from different European member associations of IARU Region 1. A team consists of 4 team members between 15-25 years old and a team leader, who may be over 25, preferably a teacher or other type of experienced youth leader.

All three hundred-odd of the RSGB's young members (aged 15-25) should be receiving a personal invitation to apply for a place on the team.

DMR Digital Voice repeaters licenced

Ofcom issued licences for three DMR amateur radio repeaters, GB7BS, GB7SD and GB7JB

Dave G3ZXX has applied for the Notice of Variation for a 70cm DMR Digital Voice repeater, to be located at Willoughby Hedge, along side GB3JB.

The application was approved on 9th December 2013 by ETCC and passed it to Ofcom, with the recommendation to issue an NoV.
