AM Licence for Radio Caroline

Ofcom has announced that Radio Caroline has been awarded an AM licence, providing a new service covering Suffolk and Essex, as one of five new announced community radio licences for medium wave (AM) services.
 
Licences have been awarded to Ark AM in Glasgow, Carillion Wellbeing Radio in West Leicestershire, Radio Caroline in Suffolk and northern parts of Essex, Radio Ninesprings in Yeovil and the South Somerset District and Radio Seerah in Leicester.
 
Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis and focus on delivering specific social benefits to a particular local area or community of interest.
