Texas native Jim LaPorta, N1CC, former ARRL staffer and Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA) Life Member has become a silent key.

LaParta started his Ham Radio history in 1956, when first licenced as KN6SXX . 

LaPorta’s first love was DX contesting, and during his active contest years as K6SXX, WA0ISO, DL4LA, W5QGZ, and W5LA his stations often performed admirably, even at the QRP level.
