World Radio Day London 2017

SOAS Radio will be hosting World Radio Day London on Friday 10th February 2017

World Radio Day is an event for exploring today’s world of radio, bringing together community stations, local organisations, and international media groups to exhibit their work and create an exchange of ideas between industry professionals, radio enthusiasts, academics, and anyone curious.

The event will be addressing the theme of ‘Radio and Global Transitions’; the experience of migration, health crises, innovative communication technologies and how they are reflected in radio.

Come learn and participate in exhibitions, workshops and discussions about contemporary approaches to radio. See what’s happening in the airwaves around you!

Hamvention Relocated

After the closure of the Hara Arena, a new home for the annual Hamvention event has been announced.

From 2017, the event will take place in Greene County after a partnership was formed between Greene County Board of Commissioners, city of Xenia and Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The multi-day Amateur / Ham Radio Event has been run by the Dayton Amateur Radio Association since 1952.

We are so excited to be working with the Dayton Hamvention to bring an event of this caliber to the Fairgrounds and Expo Center. Spend time with this group of professionals and volunteers and their passion for running a first-class event immediately becomes abundantly clear.
— Alan Anderson president of the Greene County Board of Commissioners

The event is worth an estimated $17 million to the hosting location economy.
