Melbourne QRP by the Bay

Melbourne QRP by the Bay is coming up next month – Saturday 2 November 2019 at 3pm.

It's an occasional gathering of homebrewers, QRPers and portable operators. Normally between about 15 and 30 people show up for a very convivial couple of hours. Bring yourself, an idea and an interesting piece of equipment.

Gather at Chelsea beach near the lifesaving club, and afterwards, a lot of the crew go for tea at a local restaurant.

HAREC exams at HAMEXPO show 12 October 2019

A HAREC certificate allows you to apply for the highest class of amateur licence in any CEPT country. There's an opportunity to take a 40 question HAREC exam at the HAMEXPO show in Le Mans Oct. 12

The 1-hour single multiple-choice paper is the equivalent of doing the UK Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced exams but there's less than a third of the questions and no Practical Assessments are required.

Ofcom will issue a Full M0 licence to anyone passing and getting a HAREC certificate. The only drawback with the exam is that the questions are in French.
