Italian Radio Hams on 70 MHz

The A.R.I. VHF & Up Manager, Alessandro Carletti IV3KKW, reports Italian radio amateurs have access to 70 MHz.

Italian Amateurs have again access to 70 MHz from February 1st till December 31st 2013.

These are the specifications :

  • All Italian stations are authorized except ones 30 km or less from Italian border with Austria, Switzerland and France.
  • Frequencies : 70.100, 70.200 and 70.300 with 25 kHz of bandwidth
  • All modes with a maximum bandwidth of 25 kHz
  • Max power 50 Watt ERP

5.3 MHz in Sweden

Sweden is now issuing radio amateurs with permits for 5.3 MHz operation.

PTS has now started to issue permits for experimental transmitters in the 5MHz band. Presently the following frequencies apply: 5310-5313 kHz, 5320-5323, 5380-5383 kHz and 5390-5393 kHz. Bandwidth is limited to 3 kHz independent of type of modulation.

Maximum output power is 100 watt pep. Mobile use is not permitted. Holders of call sign for amateur radio may use their amateur radio call sign. It is permitted to make contact with other permit holders. This operation must respect all other traffic in the band. It is very important not to disturb other traffic.<br /><br />PTS requires a fee for the administration. The permits are limited in time to 6 months.
