60m for Luxembourg

This month, October 2016 has seen the availability of the 60m band for use ny Amateur / Ham Radio Operators in Luxembourg.

The national frequency plan has been updated and published in the Memorial (the official Luxembourg government publication) meaning from  10th October 2016 operators are allowed to use 5351.5 to 5366.5 kHz on a secondary basis with an "Effective Radiated Power" of 15W.

The frequency of the beacon LX0HF was reset to 5205.25kHz.

2017 Canadian Special Callsign Prefixes

The Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) have announced special alternative callsign prefixes will help publicise the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation in 2017.

A series of national, regional and local events are to occur during the landmark year and the RAC says it has negotiated for VA callsigns to use CF, VE to be CG, VO may be CH and VY stations will be able to use CI.

Use of the alternative prefixes are expected to also include commemorative QSL cards.

Work Thailand in CQWW DX SSB Contest

Members of the Thailand DX Association (HSDXA) will be active as E2X during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (29-30th October 2016) and the CQWW DX CW Contest (26-27th November 2016) as a Multi-Single/High-Power entry.
