70 MHz access for German Ham Radio Operators

The German Federal Network Agency has approved the use of 70.000 to 70.030 MHz by Class A radio amateurs from 2nd July until 31st August 2014.

German Amateur / Ham Radio Operators will be able to access 70 MHz band

German Amateur / Ham Radio Operators will be able to access 70 MHz band

Restrictions are similar to those for the 50 MHz band: 25 watts EIRP, all transmission types, maximum bandwidth 12 kHz horizontal antenna polarization. This means that in Germany for the first time since 1957, 4m working opportunities within the amateur radio service are possible.

The DARC say they will work with the agencies involved so that a permanent solution for access to the 4 m band, with its interesting propagation conditions is found.
