Consultation on Amending Regulations for Short Range Radar Equipment

Ofcom has proposed amendments to the Wireless Telegraphy (Automotive Short Range Radar) (Exemption) Regulations 2013.

Current regulations allow vehicles to use certain short-range radar (SRR) equipment, such as parking sensors, in the 24 GHz band without the need for a licence.

The proposed amendments would ensure the scope of the existing regulations remains the same, in the event the UK leaves the European Union without a withdrawal agreement being in place. We are not proposing any policy changes for use of this equipment.

The consultation will close at 5pm on 22 March 2019.
