Regulations change Challenges Amateurs in Cambodia

Government regulations passed two years ago may prevent amateurs from being able to renew their operating certificates because in order to do so, their equipment must be approved by the Cambodian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. That means they have to meet government-set standards for operating, safety and health. But - they can’t. This has the effect of banning amateur radio equipment because no such mechanism *exists for these kinds of tests in Cambodia. Further, there is no nationwide amateur radio advocacy group to step in and attempt to lobby for action. Testing efforts on the equipment are said to be costly.

So for now, no hams can renew their certificates and no hams visiting Cambodia can get certified to operate there.!!
