Croatia gets 60m, expands 160m Access

Croatian radio amateurs now have access to a secondary 60-metre allocation of 5,351.5-5,366.5 kHz, as agreed to at World Radiocommunication Conference 2015, with a maximum 15 W EIRP. This updates the current practice of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) issuing 1-year licenses to operate on 60 metres.

Amateur/Ham Radio Operators in Croatia also now have access to more of the 160 metre band - 1,810-1,850 kHz with a maximum power of 1.5 kW PEP, and 1,850-2,000 kHz with a maximum power of 1 kW PEP.

Continued Spectrum Access for PMSE users

Ofcom has confirmed that programme-making and special events (PMSE) users may continue to access the 694 to 703 MHz spectrum band after 1st May 2020, when work to clear spectrum in the 700MHz band for mobile broadband use is expected to be completed

This spectrum, known as the 700 MHz ‘guard band’, will separate Digital Terrestrial TV users from future mobile broadband users, and enable PMSE users to continue using the band.

Ofcom is committed to supporting the PMSE community and believes there are benefits in allowing PMSE users to have continued access to the guard band.

We believe that continued use by PMSE services is likely to secure the optimal use of this spectrum and maximise the benefits to UK citizens and consumers.
