Radio Hams in Indonesia Get 5 MHz Band

Indonesian amateur radio regulations have been issued with new bands at 136 kHz, 472 kHz and 5 MHz

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia has issued the new Amateur Radio Regulations dated 31st December 2018.

Indonesia has 4 license classes:

  • Penegak - Advanced

  • Penggalang - General

  • Siaga - Novice

  • Pemula - Entry Level

The entry level license in Indonesia permits the use of 144 MHz and 430 MHz bands with 10 watts output after passing a straight forward rules, regulations and operating type exam lasting just 20 minutes.

New Amateur Radio Technical Requirements in Bulgaria

From 18th January 2019, New Technical Requirements has been published from Bulgarian Ministry of Communication.

Due to great commitment of BFRA now Bulgarian Amateurs have obtained some important changes :

  • Removed the age limit for the acquisition of Class 2 license (VHF and UHF with a power of not more than 5 watts, and HF from a club radio station).

  • Established a minimum age of fourteen to obtain Class A license (All bands with full legal power)

  • Removed the mandatory 6-month period between the Class 2 and Class 1 exams.

  • Significant increase in the power allowed in most bands : Max output power is now 1000 Watt (in stationary mode) and 1500 Watt allowed when participating in international contests.


Germany on 70 MHz in 2019

German radio amateurs may operate from their home with all modes in the frequency segment 70.150 to 70.200 MHz from now (19 December) until the end of 2019 with max. 25 W PEP, max. bandwidth 12 kHz, horizontal antenna.

In 2018 access was granted only from May until end of August within 70.150 to 70.180 MHz.
