Russia Trial Electromagnetic Warfare System

Russia’s electronic warfare equipment producer launched tests of a tactical electromagnetic combat complex fully integrated with latest air-defense systems, a system that guarantees complete neutralization of all enemy electronics.

Factory testing is underway for components of the new system, capable of protecting troops and civilian facilities from air and space attacks, a representative of Russia’s leading producer of electronic warfare systems. The tests are expected to be completed by the end of 2016.

Integrated with air defense systems and networks, the new complex “maintains automated real-time intelligence data exchange with the airspace defense task force” to facilitate centralized target distribution, the source said.

FCC Technological Advisory Council Noise Floor Inquiry

As all Amateur / Ham Radio operators now, higher radio spectrum noise is a major concern.

The FCC have set-up an advisory group to report back to the FCC Technology Advisory Council (TAC) to investigate changes and trends in the radio spectrum noise floor, establish if there is an increase in noise, and if so, the extent of the problem.

Public comments, with evidence are welcome, and need to be made by 11th August 2016.

New National Belize Amateur / Ham Radio Society

A new Belize Amateur / Ham Radio Society has been formed to represent radio amateur within Belize, formerly known as British Honduras.

The group gained NGO status in May, and have continued their restructuring by adding content to the group's website and facebook page.

The group have submitted an application to join Region 2 of the IARU.

Members are joining monthly meetings including operation days and workshops
