PocketRxTx v3 Released

Version three of PocketRxTx has been released to the Google Play store, working on Android smartphones and tablets.

This Android "App" works both as a remote rig control console, either via USB, bluetooth or network, or a client to a whole list of WebSDR receivers around the world.

A feature in PocketRxTx when working over a network (LAN or WAN) is the inclusion of bi-directional audio as well as rig control removing the need to use Skype or another program for audio to and from your rig. A free Java based network server is provided so that your rig can be connected to a Windows, Mac or Linux PC and then to your local network and onwards into the Internet. The USB and Bluetooth (when supported by the rig) are direct connections and therefore need no PC to transfer the remote CAT commands.

Many of the currently available Ham transceivers are already supported by PocketRxTx v 3.0 and with the pro version of the App the user has the ability to customise what controls are displayed on the Smartphone or Tablet screen and indeed to write their own control file for a currently non-supported model.
