Radio Ham Licensed for 75 years

Jack Goldfarb W8WGO is an American Ham radio operator with 75 years of operating experience, gaining his callsign when he was 16 

“I got my license in April, 1941,” Goldfarb said. “I went downtown (Cleveland) to the FCC office that was in the old post office building. I still remember Mr. Russ was the FCC radio inspector there.”

Goldfarb interest was generated from his interest in electronics. When he was elementary school, Goldfarb would experiment t with telephones, automobile horns and lightbulbs. He also enjoyed building Heathkits, which lead to him building his first transmitter.

Goldfarb then moved on to create a radio club in high school, but it only lasted that one year, closing when he moved on.

Goldfarb graduated from Glenville High School and when the Army and World War II came calling, his radio skills put him in demand.

G0KSC Wins RSGB Award Again

Justin Johnson, G0KSC has won another award from the RSGB, this year for his contributions to the Amateur / Ham Radio hobby, VHF/UHF Antenna technology and the introduction of the super-low noise LFA Yagi.

InnovAntennas products are designed and built at the Waters & Stanton facility in Hockley Essex, England in addition to Force 12 / InnovAntennas America factory in Grand Junction Colorado USA.

After the award at the RSGB AGM in Glasgow on 23rd April, Justin's next appearance will be at the ARRL Antenna Forum in Dayton in May this year.

Eleven-year-old NJ’s Youngest Ham Operator

Hunter Greb KD2JUB a fifth grader attending Reeds School, Galloway, NJ has recently been honored for being one of the youngest amateur radio operators in New York state 

Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) who presented a state proclamation to Hunter, and spoke highly of his accomplishments.

Vince Jones, director of public safety for Atlantic County, gave Greb a certificate and announced that 12th February would know be know as Hunter Greb Day throughout New York state.

Hunter also received a most inspirational volunteer award from the Jersey Shore Children's Museum for weekly Morse code lessons and foxhunts.
