ICQ Amateur/Ham Radio Podcast's Chris Howard (M0TCH), Martin Rothwell (M0SGL) and Colin Butler (M6BOY) attended the official opening of the BBC station located at Broadcasting House - G8BBC.

The station, located in a room known affectionately as Askey's Flat on the eight floor, was officially opened by BBC Director General Lord Tony Hall who with the assistance of Jonathan Kempster M5AEO who is a BBC Studio Manager made a contact to HMS Belfast (GB2RN) moored on the River Thames.

The BBC Radio Group bestowed an honoury membership to Lord Tony Hall, making him the 36th member of the group

Latest GEO Quarterly Magazine Available

The September edition of the weather satellite magazine GEO Quarterly produced by the Group for Earth Observation is now available for free download
 
The Group for Earth Observation's aim is to enable amateur reception of weather and earth imaging satellites that are in orbit or planned for launch in the near future. 
 
GEO recently changed from a paid subscription to an optional sign-up to the GEO-Subscribers Yahoo group.
