RSGB President Promotes Success Club Tips

RSGB President Nick Henwood gave a presentation recently at the RSGB Convention where he discussed new and traditional ideas to help an Amateur/Ham Radio club succeed.

The talk explores challenges and solutions. In an interactive session he also discusses how we can share good practice for our mutual benefit.

English Edition of AMSAT-EA Newsletter

Spain's amateur satellite group AMSAT-EA have released an English language edition of their November newsletter  

It covers the recently activated linear transponder SSB/CW satellites CAS-4A and CAS-4B, upcoming DXpeditions and an article on the QBITO satellite.

Nine New Community Radio Licences

Ofcom has announced the award of nine new community radio licences in England and Wales.

Licences have been awarded to the following:

  • Cannock Chase Radio - Cannock and Rugeley, Staffordshire
  • Dean Radio - Cinderford, Forest of Dean
  • Keynsham Town Community Radio - Keynsham, Somerset
  • Purbeck Coast FM - Swanage, Dorset
  • Ninesprings FM - Yeovil, Somerset
  • Radio Newquay - Newquay, Cornwall
  • Rhondda Radio - Rhondda, South Wales
  • Ridgeway Community Radio - Dorchester, Dorset
  • West Somerset Radio - Minehead, Somerset

Ofcom is also today inviting ‘expressions of interest’ from people and groups that are interested in applying for a community radio licence.

The deadline for ‘expressions of interest’ is 5pm on Wednesday 6 December 2017.
